race against racism 2011:YWCA Northern Rhode Island sponsored a Race Against Racism. This 5K Run/Walk was held to unite people of all races, demonstrate our community's commitment to eliminating racism, and celebrate our diversity. Proceeds support community and racial justice efforts. Event partners included Copswalk 2011, Family Resources Community Action, Landmark Medical Center, LISC Rhode Island, NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, Northern Rhode Island Area Health Education Center, RiverzEdge Arts Project, Thundermist Health Center, and Woonsocket Prevention Coalition. The 5K Run/Walk was held on Sunday, April 10 at 10am in River Island Park, Woonsocket. The race was professionally timed. Prizes were awarded to the top three male and female finishers. First place age division winners were also awarded for male and female finishers (no double dipping): under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Thank you!
